Franklin County Government

Franklin County was formed in 1779 from the southern half of Bute County in the midst of the American Revolution and was named in honor of Benjamin Franklin.

 

Greater Franklin County Chamber of Commerce

The Greater Franklin County Chamber of Commerce is committed to representing and advocating business interests, promoting economic growth, providing leadership in community affairs, enhancing the quality of life for the people of Franklin County and providing services and programs for its members.

 
 

Town of Louisburg

Historic Louisburg is nestled along a bend of the Tar River. The rolling terrain is dominated by abundant creeks and granite rock outcroppings. Louisburg was founded in 1779 when Franklin County was established.
